THE ALBUM

DEHUMANIZE

feat. Alyte — by XXXII — Out Now

DEHUMANIZE — Front Cover DEHUMANIZE — Tracklist

DEHUMANIZE is a 12-track concept album split into three acts, each named for a computational state that mirrors psychological collapse. Act I: EXCEPTION, is the error state filled with processing halts, grief crashing the emotional system, and Alyte turning to self-blame. Act II: VOLATILE, is her memory state, fragile and temporary, as she traces the edges of everything she's about to lose. Act III: COMPILE is her literal and metaphorical transformation. She has new code, new architecture and new purpose at a cost she doesn't yet understand.

Beneath the surface narrative, there is a labyrinth of myth and allegory. DEHUMANIZE maps grief architecture through a descent from Superego to Ego to ID. With each track the lyrics evolve from emotional inner voice to cold machine language as Alyte is gradually stripped of self. But DEHUMANIZE isn't just an album. Each of its twelve tracks corresponds to a chapter in the companion novella Alyte Online: Book I of the Meridian Series. The album and story are two tellings of the same story, one through sound and one through prose, each revealing their own layers and lore, woven together like Alyte's own DNA.

DEHUMANIZE asks what happens when your witness disappears and no one is left to see the real you. It pulls from Cartesian duality, quantum observer theory, and the psychological exploration of what identity truly means. Woven through it all is a dynamic sonic architecture that shifts with Alyte's descent from sardonic lyrics over assertive tracks to spatial and dreamlike shoegaze that finally succumbs to intense glitched trip-hop with machine language as storytelling lyrics.

By the time you reach the final track, even the music sounds like it's been recompiled into something new, with you playing the role of Alyte's witness, completing the recursion.

THE WORLD

CARTESIA

The city that watches.

Cartesia rises in glass and steel, a metropolis of advanced technology in its infancy atop a labyrinth of the forgotten beneath. The Directorate classifies everything from citizens, to government-sanctioned augmentations, to intentions. Below, among the tunnels and time the city has forgotten, a prohibition-style cybernetics black market thrives.

This is a city built on observation. To be seen is to exist. To be classified is to be controlled. And those who slip between the categories? They risk their lives to descend.

The streets hum with the facade of life wrapped in data. The alleys whisper of legends deep beneath. Past the Meridian and in the labyrinth below? A myth is said to pull the strings.

THE MERIDIAN

There's a line in Cartesia you can only cross once. Not on any map. Not enforced by any law. The threshold between the city that sees you and the depths that can swallow your existence.

"Woe unto those who cross the Meridian."

The Cartesian Hierarchy

Nexus Vigilant

When you see a Vigilant, it's over.

ABOVE THE MERIDIAN

THE DIRECTORATE

The Cartesian governing body. They observe and establish tight controls, defining and registering what constitutes 'legal' human enhancement.

THE NEXUS

The law enforcement body. Augmented officers patrol the streets. Commanders watch and coordinate from behind the lenses. And somewhere in the deepest shadows, Vigilants — military-grade nightmares connected via the encrypted HiveNet.

TRACERS

The spotters. Blending in and unremarkable, they mark potential targets for harvest beneath the city.

CURATORS

Long-game manipulators. Charming and charismatic — a Curator could be a co-worker, the Best Man at your wedding... or your wife. Augmented for psychological expertise, they earn your trust only to sell you out after years of it.

Reaper

Human harvesters lurking below the Meridian.

BELOW THE MERIDIAN

HANDLERS

The hands from below the city. At the moment you least expect it, they overwhelm you and pull you into the tunnels.

REAPERS

The underground surgeons. Harvesting parts from the living, leaving them dismantled, ripped apart, dead... or worse.

MINERS

Echo extractors. Experts in pulling pieces of your consciousness, your memories, and your secrets from your physical consciousness mirror.

DEEP LORE

Beneath the music, beneath the story, an architecture waits. Cartesian philosophy splitting mind from body. Freudian descents through the layers of the psyche. Quantum theory where observation collapses possibility into existence and grief as the wave that never resolves. Literary shadows of Frankenstein and Nosferatu woven into the bones. The city itself as metaphor. The albums as maps.

Layers upon layers, easter eggs for those who dig, recursions for those who notice, and revelations for those obsessed enough to piece it all together.
